Zibby: Weekly Update - 2026-06-26
1. Reporting window
Reporting window: 2026-06-12 to 2026-06-19 . The source reports agree on the weekly date range but disagree slightly on timestamp boundaries: the Engineering Report starts at 2026-06-12 14:01 UTC , while the Business Focus Report starts at 2026-06-12 10:00 CDT / 15:00 UTC and ends at 2026-06-19 10:02 CDT . To avoid overlap with the prior Build In Public report, this page uses the date window 2026-06-12 to 2026-06-19 . [P1][P2][P3]
2. Executive Business Summary
- Zibby had a strong product-readiness week. Engineering closed
77 issues , merged 40 PRs , shipped v2026.6.8 , hardened onboarding, improved Home and ZibbyChat, stabilized memory load, and tightened release/TestFlight assurance. [P1][P4]
- That is engineering throughput and launch-risk reduction, not proof of business traction. The Business Focus source is explicit that adoption, retention, revenue, pricing, investor follow-through, and a trusted weekly funnel are still under-proven. [P2][P7]
- The honest read: the beta is becoming more credible, but the business still needs measured distribution. Product readiness is ahead of demand proof. [P1][P2][P8]
3. Goal Progress
- Beta launch / adoption: the product surface is more credible for a broader beta ask because onboarding, Home, live voice, ZibbyChat, memory load, and release confidence all improved. Adoption proof remains thin because completed invite/onboarding tasks do not yet show a clean invite-to-install-to-first-memory count. [P1][P2][P9][P10] - User feedback / quality: the fixes were business-relevant. The work reduced early-user trust risks around profile handoff, first-memory saving, Bluetooth/route behavior, Smart-Compose overlap, transcript boundaries, and TestFlight release confidence. [P1][P4] - GTM / comms: calendar blocks show intent. Meetings around resources are useful but the real proof will be in following up on pilots and doing things that don’t scale up but scale out [P2][P11] - Fundraising / partnerships: Several follow up meetings from StartOut around Austin growth intros, positioning, journaling/wellness collaboration, and fundraising context. None have the shape of partnership or investor outcome but there are mutual advantages. [P2][P12] - Founder systems: the reporting system is doing useful work because it keeps exposing the difference between engineering output and business proof. The missing gaps. Broken email integration, lack on visibility into linkedIn and iMessage along with a weekly operating scoreboard. [P2][P13]
4. Accountability / Reality Check
- The company is not under-building. It is still overusing shipping velocity as a proxy for business progress. [P1][P2]
- Marking beta tasks done without funnel outcomes creates false clarity. A done GTM task should include sends, replies, installs, first memories, and next follow-up status. [P2][P9][P10]
- Next week should bias toward distribution proof unless a launch-blocking defect appears. More internal polish is easier to measure than market pull, but it is not the current bottleneck. [P2][P8]
5. Calendar and Time Allocation
- Calendar structure was visible: recurring
GTM + Marketing , Biz Dev + Product , wellness/admin blocks, The Brads , and Jake + Brad weekly events appeared in the Business Focus source. [P2][P11]
- There were several external meetings delivering the business meaningful fuel for growth. Both operationally and through partnerships and relationships. Keep acting on these or it’ll remain potential energy [P12]
- For next week, at least one GTM block should become
send 20 invites + log funnel counts
6. Next Commitments
1. Complete the broader outreach blast by 2026-06-24 and log invite, reply, install, and first-memory counts. [P2][P8] 2. Send the investor group update by 2026-06-24 and log recipients, replies, and requested follow-up calls. [P2][P14]2 3. Convert StartOut followups into tracked items by 2026-06-23 . [P2][P12][P15] 4. Publish the weekly operating scoreboard by 2026-06-26 with invite, install, first-memory, D7 return, owner, and weekly review cadence. [P2][P13] 5. Finish beta pricing and cost guardrails by 2026-06-25 before broadening beta distribution. [P2][P16]
7. Engineering Report
- This was a stabilization-and-release week with real volume:
40 PRs merged , 77 issues closed , v2026.6.8 published, and multiple production promotion runs completed. [P1][P4][P17]
- Signup/onboarding was simplified and hardened, including email-link profile handoff, single-session onboarding, richer structured/photo first-memory saves, existing-user skip behavior, and artifact save restoration. [P1][P5]
- ZibbyChat reliability improved through lower-boundary transcript anchoring, Smart-Compose overlap fixes, center-button status semantics, accessibility metadata, and rendered snapshot/geometry coverage. [P1][P6]
- Live voice/Bluetooth handling improved, and the realtime-voice decomposition campaign closed structurally, but manual E2E verification and most-recent audio-device selection remain open risks. [P1][P7]
- Backend/release systems improved through cold-start-aware ops review, memory-load capacity and telemetry work, backend coverage ratcheting, admin Node 22 migration, and TestFlight run assurance after production promotion. [P1][P18]
8. Observed Trends
- Reliability work outweighed pure feature expansion. Visible surfaces changed, but much of the effort went into making shipped flows durable. [P1]
- Onboarding is now mature enough to produce narrow, concrete regressions instead of vague design work. That is a better failure mode, but it still requires measured beta activation. [P1][P2]
- Voice architecture is moving away from monolith pressure toward owned collaborators. The structural risk is lower; physical-device confidence still needs proof. [P1][P7]
- CI and automation are becoming governance tools: coverage ratchets, snapshot geometry checks, Xcode Cloud run assurance, standards indexing, and cold-start classification all moved checks from informal memory into repeatable systems. [P1][P18]
- Business execution still looks more task-led than metrics-led. The operating scoreboard is the missing bridge between effort and proof. [P2][P13]
9. Stability / Systems Etc
- Release posture improved with
v2026.6.8 , successful production promotions, and post-promotion Xcode Cloud/TestFlight assurance. [P1][P17]
- Memory-load stability improved through staging right-sizing, telemetry, coalesced refreshes, and safer cached-memory fallback; this should still be watched in production. [P1][P18]
- Backend quality gates are stricter because coverage now has an enforced no-regression ratchet rather than only an advisory target. [P1][P18]
- Realtime voice is safer structurally but still needs manual E2E verification and final audio-device-selection cleanup. [P1][P7]
- Evidence quality is strong for engineering, Notion tasks, and calendar; it remains weak for direct Gmail evidence because the Gmail connector required reauthentication. [P1][P2][P19]
