You Choose What Zibby Can Use

Zibby uses the memories and sources you choose to add or enable, which may include:

Memory content: text, photos, video, audio, transcripts, people, dates, places, and related metadata
Optional device sources: selected-photo metadata, contacts, calendar, location, motion, and Apple Health workout information
Service information: account, security, usage, diagnostics, support, subscription, and optional messaging records

How Zibby Uses Google Services

Zibby owns and operates the Service and uses Google LLC as a service provider through Google Cloud Platform and Google AI services. When you use an AI feature, Zibby sends only the content and context needed to provide that feature.

Before personal data is first sent to Google for AI processing, the app separately identifies Google, explains what may be sent and why, and asks for permission. Accepting the Privacy Policy or Terms alone does not grant that permission.

Apple Health Stays Bounded

If you enable Workouts, Zibby reads workout details to suggest memories and prompts. Zibby does not write to Apple Health. Exact workout route coordinates stay on your device; only a derived workout summary may be uploaded.

What We Do Not Do

Sell personal information or family stories
Send User Content to data brokers or advertising networks for cross-app targeted advertising
Use personal information or User Content to train general-purpose AI models
Use health or fitness information for advertising, credit, insurance, or employment decisions

Your Controls

The app provides controls for optional device sources, personalization features, saved voice-chat audio, data export, and account deletion. Google AI processing is required for the Service; contact support@zibby.ai to withdraw permission and end access unless you grant it again. The full Privacy Policy explains each data category, service provider, use, retention rule, and right.

What's In A Name

Zibby originates from the Italian word zibaldone, which means “a hodgepodge” or “a miscellaneous collection.”

Historically, a zibaldone was a personal notebook used by 14th-century Venetian and Florentine merchants for memory preservation, recording reflections, jotting down thoughts, documenting business dealings, and making observations, all without a rigid structure. These notebooks were passed down through generations and contained a rich personal legacy and family history.

We loved that.

Zibby is a modern take on that idea: a space where you can collect the fragments and key moments of your life: photos, voice notes, keepsakes, and stories, and turn them into a living, evolving legacy that connects generations.
